Our client is a well-established, patient-focused medical clinic located in Perth. Known for its commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare with compassion and professionalism, the clinic is supported by a dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and administrative staff. We are currently assisting them in the recruitment of an experienced Medical Receptionist to join their team and help continue their outstanding service to the community.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and reliable Medical Receptionist to join their team on a full-time basis. You will be the first point of contact for patients, playing a vital role in ensuring a smooth and professional experience. The ideal candidate will have prior medical reception experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a busy clinic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients in a warm and professional manner, both in-person and over the phone
  • Schedule appointments using medical practice management software (e.g. Best Practice, Medical Director, Genie)
  • Confirm, reschedule, and manage patient bookings
  • Process billing (private, Medicare, DVA, WorkCover, etc.) and manage EFTPOS/HICAPS payments
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and ensure confidentiality is upheld
  • Liaise with GPs, nurses, allied health professionals, and external providers
  • Respond to patient inquiries, follow-up calls, and incoming correspondence
  • Assist with filing, scanning, recalls, and other administrative tasks as required
  • Support clinical staff in managing day-to-day workflow and patient care coordination
  • Maintain an organised reception area and waiting room

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a medical receptionist or similar role is desirable
  • Familiarity with Medicare billing processes and medical software systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure in a busy clinical setting
  • A team-player attitude with a proactive and adaptable approach
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday to Friday (no weekends required?)

Desirable Qualifications

  • Training in medical administration or healthcare support
  • CPR or First Aid certification
  • Previous experience in a general practice or specialist clinic
